THE CIRCUS OF LUIS

     “He is deeply good, and as kindness is not in fashion, he is deeply old. The Parthenon is also old. And good. Like Luis Bello. With solid columns that ground him to the earth and free ideas that uplift him to the sky. It is certain that his qualities do not correspond with the last name that his parents gave him because he is not exactly beautiful. I would say that he is lovely but realize that he must let you under his skin for him to vent his feelings. This is something that he allows his friends in moments of inspiration and devotion. At other times, he is rebellious, mischievous, unorthodox and scathing. He is also hard-working and has overcome difficulties through willpower that, in the balance, weighs more than his taste for the good life. 

     "I have seen him grow as a journalist and remember an eager youth who fell in love with a microphone as much as he did a meal, with a computer as much as the telephone in a press office. He has done everything, some things better than others, but in everything he has put his heart. I believe that he should pursue a space trip, not from NASA but from inside the rocket. And I hope that God gives me the health to see it.  

     "I have laughed with him more than with anyone in my life, even though he neither has a television show nor acts in a circus. Or perhaps he does."
